Haysville USD 261 Schools Open August 11 & 12

Haysville USD 261 will be opening its doors for the start of the 2015 – 2016 school year on Tuesday, August 11 (Kindergarten – 6th & 9th grades) and Wednesday, August 12 (grades 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades).

The school day starts and ends at the following times: Elementary Schools – 8:25 a.m. – 3:50 p.m.; Middle Schools – 7:35 a.m. – 2:50 p.m.; and High Schools – 7:50 a.m. – 3:05 p.m.

Each school has scheduled open houses for the new school year:

•All District Elementary Schools have scheduled their Open House for Monday, August 10 from 6 to 7 p.m.

•Haysville Middle School – Monday, August 10 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

•Haysville West Middle School – Thursday, August 20 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

•Campus High School – Tuesday, August 18 from 7 to 8 p.m.; Pep Rally in main gym from 8 to 9 p.m.

•Haysville High School – Tuesday, August 11. HHS encourages parents/guardians to call the school at 554-2231 to sign up for an appointment for orientation.

•Tri-City Day School – Tuesday, August 11 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Parents As Teachers

The Haysville USD 261 Parents as Teachers program offers free developmental screenings for anyone living in the Haysville School District who has a child between the ages of birth and age 3 years. Screenings can be done at convenient places and times. To schedule a screening, call the Parents as Teachers office at 554- 2303.

Count Your Kids In

Count Your Kid In screenings for the 2015 – 2016 school year will be held on the dates listed below in the Early Childhood Offices at 1745 W. Grand.

All screening and evaluation services are free to USD 261 residents.

USD 261 Parents as Teachers and Early Childhood staff are able to screen children ages Birth to 5 years old. The screening looks at several areas of development including social, speech and language, motor, and cognitive skills in addition to hearing and vision.

The screening helps with early identification of concerns and is required for enrollment in the Haysville Pre-K program. For more information about the Pre-K program or to schedule a screening, call 554-2233.

The dates of the screenings for 2015 – 2016 are:

August 11 (full day); October 7 (morning); November 4 (afternoon); December 2 (morning); January 6 (afternoon); February 3 (morning); March 2 (full day); April 6 (full day); April 20 (full day); and May 18 (afternoon).
