Haysville USD 261’s HOPE Program and the Haysville Recreation Department partnered again this summer for the Jumpstart Reading Program. Students in 1st through 5th grades spent four weeks divided into four multi-aged groups and rotated daily through activities of reading, math, technology and recreation. The focus for this summer was a Reader’s Theatre performance where each group practiced, created settings and costumes, learned a song and poem for their performances. The students presented their final performance on July 24 with many parents, family members and friends in attendance.
